A.M.I. 6-12 Certificate Course, July 7th - 10th & 13th - 18th 2020 (10 days)

Who is the Course for?

This course is intended to help interested adults become informed, capable and supportive Assistants to a training Montessori Primary Teacher (6-12).

Further, the programme may serve as an information course for Primary Trust members and parents.

The course presents an examination of the development of the child in accordance with Dr Montessori Montessori's principles and philosophy. Particular emphasis is given to children of ages six to twelve years of  age. The course supports the following objectives:

  • To learn the Montessori philosophy with regard to child development
  • To observe the Primary child (second plane of development) 
  • To learn how to interact with the Montessori trained teacher
  • To learn how to interact with the Primary Child

Duration of the Course

Sixty hours (60) of instruction and nine hours (9) of observation.  Three (3) of these will occur during the course. The remaining 6 hours of observation in a Primary class, after the course, will be required.
