Fabulous Fractions

Thursday 5th October

6.00 - 8.30p.m. on Zoom

What an enjoyable evening we had exploring 'Fabulous Fractions.'

“As the child works for a long time with the material - day after day, month after month, working at his own pace unperturbed, unhurried – gradually there comes off from the material (almost as imperceptibly as a perfume or exhalation) the very essence of the operation…..all we can do is to help the child by giving them the best possible conditions, which include presenting them with external concrete materials.”

What You Need to Know

During the first six years of life, each tamaiti/child creates their unique personality. They construct language, co-ordinate their movements and imbibe the social and cultural traits of those around them. These experiences from birth to six help shape their unique personality.

The prepared environment including the prepared adult are key to actualising the potential of each tamaiti.

Spanning three sessions we will explore:

• Montessori Principles – Aids to Development

• The Prepared Adult

 • The Prepared Environment
