The Association Montessori Internationale 3-6 Orientation Certificate Course is designed to offer an overview of the development of 3-6-year-old tamaiti/child and a clear understanding of how Montessori principles and practice can help tamariki/children reach their full potential.
This 60-hour course includes oral language development, aids to independence, the importance and coordination of movement, music, social development, the role of the adults in the prepared environment, and more. The course offers 'live' online learning, independent study, and 9 hours of observation.

AMI 3-6 Director of Training - Pavithra Rajagopalan
After gaining her AMI 3-6 Diploma in 2005, Pavithra worked in Montessori schools in India, the USA, and Aotearoa, New Zealand. She trained as an AMI trainer under Ms. Zarin Malva in Mumbai, India. Since 2020, Pavithra has been part of the training faculty in India, China, and Tanzania. She is currently the Director of Training in Indonesia. She has also conducted Orientation Certificate Courses worldwide. Pavithra works closely with the Gandhian Institution, Shanti Ashram, India, where she is involved in strengthening pioneering projects related to Early Childhood Education in underserved communities.

The Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) Assistants to Infancy Orientation Certificate is an introduction to the philosophy and practice of the Montessori approach for the child under the age of three.
This Course is a MUST for?
The course also offers invaluable insights for parents, whānau, and kaiārahi/guides regarding development from birth to three years. The content draws on current research on Montessori pedagogy.
It has been carefully crafted for Montessori Professionals and anyone seeking a deeper understanding of human development, with particular attention to movement and language as crucial aids to life; concepts of freedom and self-discipline; toileting and sleeping; and the social and emotional attitudes and well-being required to support babies, infants, and their whānau. This 60-hour AMI 0-3 Orientation Certificate combines 'live' ONLINE learning plus independent study and 9 hours of observation.

AMI 6-12 Orientation Certificate

The Association Montessori Internationale 6-12 Orientation Certificate course is designed to give an overview of the 6-12 tamaiti/child and a clear understanding of Montessori philosophy regarding tamariki/children of this age. This course is suitable for any adult who wants to better understand the Montessori method for 6-12 year-old tamariki, including parents, grandparents, and carers; teachers and student teachers.
Delivery Mode
The course components include live online lectures, reading and discussion and practical activities for a total of 60 hours. There are nine additional hours of observation, and students must submit an observation report, three short theory papers and material making during the course. Please note that 6 hours of the total 9 hours of Observations are required to be of children aged 6-12 within a Montessori Prepared Environment. The online components of this course will be delivered via Zoom.
